Collection: B1 - 73x103cm

Original Japanese B1 movie posters at 73x103cm, the largest standard size in the JIS theatrical format. B1 was printed for premium releases and key art positions where studios wanted maximum visual presence. Production runs were small compared to B2, and many B1 posters were destroyed after the theatrical run, so survivors are scarce.

Some B1 posters from the mid-1990s onward are double-sided. Unlike chirashi or B3 backs, which carry cast and synopsis text, these B1s replicate the front design on the reverse with reduced ink exposure. The technique is borrowed from US one-sheet production and is designed to keep the front side vibrant when the poster is displayed in a backlit theater lightbox.

This collection covers vintage and modern B1 from Japanese directors, anime studios, and Western films released theatrically in Japan.
